A Unique & Historic Location

The Hambro Arms is located in the picturesque and historic village of Milton Abbas, in the heart of beautiful Dorset. Milton Abbas, which features on many picture postcards of Dorset, is a 'chocolate box' village, with identical thatched cottages and a unique history. It is believed to be the first 'planned village' in England.


The bar and restaurant with rooms, offers exceptional food and newly-refurbished bedrooms offering all of the charm of the historic building with modern conveniences.

The Hambro Arms has a refurbished and spacious bar as well as the elegant Library Restaurant and the Damer Room, which doubles as a comfortable lounge converting to a private dining room for that ultimate dining experience.

Our customers can relax in front of our fire and enjoy a range of local ales and spirits, or choose from our wide selection of qualityfine wines.

Our ethos is to prepare, cook and serve good food simply, allowing the excellent quality and freshness of our locally sourced produce to speak for itself.. Our food offering caters for every occasion. Whether it is a lunchtime snack, an a la carte experience or a special meal, we have a menu to suit.

Named after historical figures that had a prominent part to play in creating the Milton Abbas we have today. All of our en-suite rooms have been recently refurbished. Our aim was to combine all of the charm of the historic building, with those essential modern conveniences and a little luxury.


All of our rooms have Egyptian cotton towels and sheets for that touch of luxury. The rooms also have flat-screened televisions, a hospitality tray, a hairdryer and the essential Wi-Fi internet access.


Our guests start the day with a full English breakfast served in our elegant Library Restaurant.
